I FIRST met this young group Futuna weightlifters at Moana-Hou Hotel in
Wallis. They were flown to Wallis to participate in the Mini Games.

As the leader “Weti” (third left in the picture) told me in French:
“We Futunians are the lifters. Wallisians play volleyball, rugby and participate
in the throwing events.”
In the days following, I saw many of them winning medals.
I told them that they all should practise hard and come to PNG for the
2015 Pacific Games.
