While trying to send
stuff back home to PNG in the days before the Games started, the General Team
Manager and I would turn up at the Games Organising Committee to make use
of their WiFi system.
Photo: Ilaisa-ane, the Wallisian boy (right), and me.
We met this boy
(Ilaisa-ane) asking a lot of questions in French.
Some I could
understand, others I could not.
I asked for his name
and he gave me the name, checking to see if I spelled it correctly, by peeping
at the notebook I had in hand.
“That’s correct,” he
said, when I wrote it down.
He is six years old
and his house is just next to the GOC office which is within the Kafika Stadium
area.
